BACKGROUND

Gaston County has been awarded an OVW 2025 Grants to Improve the Criminal Justice Response Program grant and will serve as the fiscal agent in partnership with the Gaston County District Attorney’s Office, the implementing agency.  The program will support a coordinated, multi-disciplinary response to sexual assault and high-risk domestic violence cases. Activities include training law enforcement to identify and prioritize high-risk victims using a specialized assessment tool, assigning a project coordinator/specialized prosecutor to support case management, providing comprehensive victim advocacy services, and delivering training on trauma-informed practices and sex trafficking dynamics.

The period of performance is 04/01/26 - 03/31/29.

Year one period of performance is 04/01/26 - 03/31/27.

Year 1 - $168,343.00

Year 2 - $165,821.50

Year 3 - $165,821.50

Total award - $499,986
