BACKGROUND

Additional funds are needed for banking fees due to an increased volume of permits paid by credit card and online. The increase is attributed to the merger with the City of Gastonia in August 2022, additional County departments utilizing EnerGov for permitting and larger construction projects in the County. The appropriation is being done through fund balance which will be reimbursed via an entry to move the $43,000 from the Building Inspection Reserve account to the Fund Balance account in the General Fund.
