BUDGET ORDINANCE IMPACT

Increase Federal revenues by $1,653,853 and appropriate $1,448,821 into LIEAP ARPA Payments account and $205,032 into the LIEAP ARPA Administration account.

BACKGROUND

Gaston County has been allocated $1,653,853 from the American Rescue Plan Act for the Pandemic Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program due to COVID-19.   In order to process payments, the funds need to be appropriated into the FY21-22 Budget.  $1,448,821 is to be used for direct payments for housing energy costs and $205,032 is for administration of the program. These funds are 100% federal funds and no additional County funds are required.
