BACKGROUND
Per Board Action 2024-115, an offer was proposed to the Board of Commissioners to purchase surplus County owned property PID# 121058 for $1,600.00. The offer to purchase was submitted by Doug Arthurs on behalf of ME Brown Enterprises, LLC. This offer was subject to the upset bid procedures as established in NCGS § 160A-269 and advertised on April 1, 2024. The offer did not receive an upset bid and this offer is the best and highest offer.
Having received all bids, per NCGS § 160A-269, the Board of Commissioners must accept or reject the offer once all bids have been submitted, which they have. Accepting the sale of this parcel for the highest offer received will enable staff to finalize the transaction and draft the necessary deed and title transfer documents. Approval of the Board Action formally accepts the highest and best bids for each parcel and directs staff to prepare the necessary closing documents for signature by the Chairman.
